D-002 – COALESCING FILTER-SEPARATORS, AIR & GAS

The development of the NAFCO coalescing filter cartridge began with a survey of filter media manufacturers in Europe and the USA in 1982. Continuing development, design and testing in coalescing technology has provided the current NAFCO two stage cartridge consisting of:
1.- Fiberglass media, with binding agents, that provides coalescing and filtration as the first stage of separation; 2. - Perforated corrosion resistant carbon steel for mechanical strength and media support and, 3. - Wicking drain media wrap that provides the final stage of gas/liquid separation and drains liquid droplets to the sump of the coalescer.

FLOCO/NAFCO COALESCING FILTER/SEPARATORS PROVIDE:
Superior performance and low cost to remove liquids, aerosols, and mists from air and gas.

5000 SERIES – FOR SLUGGING LIQUID LOADING
THREE-STAGE SEPARATION – The 1st stage utilizes an inlet, knock-out/sump and optional liquid level controls and dump valves to separate and discharge slugs of water and hydrocarbons. Above the knock-out/sump, the gas flows through NAFCO 2-stage coalescing cartridges to remove aerosols and mists. The separated liquids flow into a separate coalescing liquids sump with optional liquid level controls and dump valves. The Coalescer/Separator cartridges are installed vertically to provide counter flow gas-liquid separation for maximum capacity and efficiency.

CS SERIES – FOR NON-SLUGGING LIQUID LOADING
TWO-STAGE SEPARATION – Separation and removal of entrained liquids including aerosols, mists and droplets (low volume liquids) is accomplished with the NAFCO 2-stage coalescer/separator cartridges. As in the 5000, the cartridges are installed vertically to provide counter flow gas-liquid separation for maximum capacity and efficiency.

The below data for your application will enable our recommendation and proposal for a coalescing filter-separator to meet your most stringent requirements:

1. Name the air or gas stream you are filtering?

2. Flow, SCFM:

Pressure, PSIG:

Temperature, Deg F:

Specific Gravity:

3. Nature and amount of contaminants to be retained?
Particulate:

Liquids:
Name:

Qty:

4. Design Pressure: PSIG:

Design Temperature: Deg F

5. Pressure drop for the filter at initial operation: PSI:

6. Allowable pressure drop before the filter is to be serviced: PSI:

7. Size of your pipeline: Inches:

8. Type of connections desired?

9. Material desired for housing construction?

This data then provides the basis for the selection of an EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT AND ECONOMICAL Filter/Separator.
