KEMP
began business in 1877 as The C. (Charles) M. (May) Kemp Manufacturing
Co., in Baltimore, MD., a manufacturer of plumbing supplies, and grew to
become a leader in the manufacture of industrial gas combustion
equipment in the early 20th century. By the 1930s Kemp expanded their
combustion knowledge into the field of furnace atmosphere generators
and, in acquaintance with an early developer of solid desiccants, began
the manufacture of their first desiccant air dyers. Probably the best
known name for Kemp dryers is the ORIAD model which dates back to those
early days and was aptly named for use as an “Oil Refinery Instrument
Air Dryer”. In those plus seventy years Kemp has been a leader in
desiccant dryer technology, providing most every design and type for
industry.
